Edgewater is a lovely suburb located southwest of Annapolis and on the south side of the tidal South River. Mayo is to the east of it, Rivia is to the west and Lothian to the south. Often considered a suburb of Annapolis due to its proximity to the capital, Edgewater is an area experiencing significant growth in both retail and residential development, with plans for it to grow more and more as the years carry on. Due to its location, Edgewater shares much of the historical developments that Annapolis has had since the 1600 Colonial era, including development through major wars and exchanging hands plentiful times. As it stands today, Edgewater is a lovely, small gem of a suburb with beautiful homes, fantastic architecture and some great sights to see for both residents and visitors alike. It is no wonder that Edgewater is rated so highly as a place to live and to raise a family.
